Student Life Division

  1. Mission

    The Student Life Division under the Office of Student Affairs aims to assist students in adjusting to college life, and to help students maintain a healthy lifestyle as well as ensuring that the campus is a safe environment, in the spirit of fairness and humanistic education. It hopes to cultivate values such as self-discipline, the ability to discern right from wrong, and the understanding of truth in the youths of FJU. To offer more comprehensive care, the department is divided into two sections, one for students from the day school and one for students from the night school (School of Continuing Education). Students from the School of Continuing Education should direct their queries to the night school section.

    1. Organizing major celebrations/ school events: guidance for freshmen, talks for new transfer students, school anniversary, graduation ceremonies
    2. Providing scholarships, subsidies for disadvantaged students: school
    3. Guiding and caring for students in life and education: conscription, leave of absence, student accommodation off-campus, transport safety and awareness, student group insurance, student conduct and merit/demerit points, school rules, lost and found items, etc.
    4. Effective communication, strengthening positive interaction between students and teachers: school feedback, student complaints, etc.

Timeline

2019.9.6

Freshmen Opening Ceremony cum Guidance Talk held twice at Chung Mei Auditorium, to help freshmen acclimatize to the campus surroundings as well as introducing each school/department. Teachers and the relevant staff managers also imparted knowledge on what educational direction freshmen should take, and how to fully utilize the school’s resources, to attain successful integration into campus life.

2019.9.7

Consultation for Freshmen Parents held at Cardinal Cushing Auditorium, located at Cardinal Yu Pin Administration Building, to allow parents of freshmen to know more about the teaching/ administration processes of the school, as well as the school’s educational planning, so that parents may be onboard with and support the school’s educational philosophy.

Held Introduction on Relevant Resources for New Transfer Students (Summer) at the international conference hall on the first floor of the College of Medicine. To allow transfer students to know about the resources they can utilize at school, and to spur successful integration into campus life, through fostering a sense of recognition and motivation from students towards the school.

2019.10.23

Conference for Day School Undergraduate Student Representatives held at the international conference hall located at basement one of the Ricci Hall. On top of sharing information about the key duties of various units, an exchange of opinions was held with the student representatives.

2019.10.30

Held Mid-terms ‘All Pass’ Candy Sharing activity at Fenghwa Sqaure, while also spreading awareness about services vis-à-vis off-campus housing, traffic safety, and campus drug-free advocation.

2019.11.14

Awarded the “Sustainable Excellence in Services Rendered vis-à-vis Off-Campus Housing” award for academic year 2019-2020 given by the Ministry of Education; to attend the award ceremony and receive the award.

2019.12.6

To hold School Anniversary Celebration at Chung Mei Auditorium, whilst incorporating the shared theme of love and respect towards life in conjunction with the Christmas celebrations of all Catholic schools in Taiwan, adding a layer of meaning in the activities.

To hold Winter Solstice Gift of Tang Yuan event at Fenghwa Square, spreading awareness about services vis-à-vis off-campus housing, traffic safety, and campus drug-free advocation.
